Meet the stars of Julia Peaches and the Stage Scaries
MEET THE CAST

JULIA PEACHES
Dreamer. Performer. Professional Overthinker.
Julia Peaches loves to sing, dance, and dream big. She has plenty to say—until all eyes are on her! With a big imagination, a kind heart, and a little help from her best pal Sugar, Julia is learning that being brave doesn’t mean you aren’t nervous. Sometimes, it just means stepping into the spotlight anyway.

SUGAR
Best Friend. Sidekick. Treat Enthusiast.
Sugar is Julia’s faithful schnauzer and her biggest fan. He’s always by her side with a wagging tail, a little silliness, and just the right kind of encouragement. When the Stage Scaries show up, Sugar helps Julia discover that sometimes a new perspective can make all the difference.

MOM
Cheerleader. Hugger. Heck on wheels.
Mom knows Julia can do hard things—even when Julia isn’t so sure. She’s always ready with encouragement, a reassuring hug, and the reminder that sometimes the bravest thing you can do is simply give it a try.

DAD
Problem Solver. Pep-Talker. Dad Joke Expert.
Dad is always in Julia’s corner. Whether he’s offering a little advice, making her laugh, or cheering from the sidelines, he’s there to remind Julia that she doesn’t have to be perfect to make him proud.
BROTHER
Big Bro. Button Pusher. Secret Softie.
As Julia’s big brother, he considers it his duty to tease her every now and then. But underneath it all, he’s one of her biggest fans—and when it really matters, he’s always rooting for his little sister.

MEET THE CREW

Kendell Shows
Author | President of Plot Twists

Kendell Shows is a storyteller and lifelong theatre kid who believes laughter is one of the best ways to build confidence. She is the Communications Director for Art in Public Places and volunteers on and off the stage with Southeastern Alabama Community Theatre. She also produces theatre shows at Houston Academy. She's even tried her hand at stand up comedy a few times but prefers playing a character on stage instead of herself!
She is a proud graduate of Auburn University and lives in Dothan, Alabama, with her husband, children, and pets. Her beloved schnauzer, Lottie, is the inspiration for Sugar, and her cat, Cinnamon, lives for giving judgmental side eye.

Carolyn Cowper
Illustrator | Chief Imagination Officer
An Alabama native and University of Alabama BFA graduate, Carolyn Cowper is a Savannah-based graphic designer, artist, and the illustrator. She loves bringing stories to life through vibrant visual storytelling. When she’s not creating, she can be found exploring the historic city with her husband and their two beloved mini schnauzer mixes, Remy and Franklin.

Christen Bane
Photo Magician
Dothan native Christen Bane is a photographer, media producer, mom of three, and proud dog mom. Her unexpected résumé includes everything from photography to—yes, really—working as a bodyguard at WrestleMania. Christen has photographed plenty of interesting subjects, but wrangling Kendell and a schnauzer for a photo shoot inside an opera house may have been a first.

Lottie Shows
Sugar's Real Life Inspiration | VP of Naps
Lottie is a lovable schnauzer who has always taken center stage in the Shows family. She’s the number-one pet. She knows it. Her sister cat, Cinnamon, knows it. And everyone has accepted it. When she isn’t inspiring children’s literature, Lottie enjoys naps, canned food and plenty of snuggling. As for her age? We don’t discuss it, because a lady never tells.
Lottie was adopted from schnauzerloverescue.net
Falin Williams
Director of Reel Life
Falin has spent more than a decade working behind the scenes at Alabama Dance Works, where she combines creativity, design, production, and many moving parts. A lifelong theatre lover and SEACT performer, she’s just as comfortable onstage as she is making the magic happen behind it. For Julia Peaches, Falin has been there with camera in hand, capturing the behind-the-scenes fun and unexpected moments—all in the name of a really good blooper reel.
Caleigh Parsons
VP of Nonsense
With a sharp creative eye and an opinion Kendell trusts, Caleigh has served as a sounding board throughout the Julia Peaches journey—offering feedback, helping edit the book, and weighing in on everything from creative decisions to unexpected marketing ideas. She is a Dothan-based visual artist and abstract painter known for her colorful, layered work, which has been featured in national and regional art shows. She and her husband have twin boys and three dogs that are, without a doubt, the boss of them.
